Argy employees came together recently to help with Ocean Conservancy's 25th annual International Coastal Cleanup. With the backdrop of the nation's Capital, corporate, government and community volunteers gathered to kick-off the world's largest volunteer effort for oceans and waterways. Following remarks by corporate and government leaders, more than 200 volunteers from a variety of organizations and companies dispersed to remove trash from along the Anacostia River.
Argy employees also participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night walk in Reston, VA on October 2nd. Over 70 Argy employees and their family members participated in the walk, which helped raise money for leukemia and lymphoma cancer research.
The Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010, which was signed into law on September 27, contains numerous tax breaks -- many of them retroactive to the beginning of this year. The law's name is somewhat misleading since the tax incentives are not just for small businesses. Some are available to large corporations. The new law also establishes a $30 billion fund that will provide small business loans from local community banks. Here is a rundown of what is included in the legislation.
